DE Bubba Smith Former NFL Player Suffered From CTE Before Death

Bubba Smith is one of the 92 former players in NFL who was diagnosed with CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy) since 2008. Research was done with a Veteran Affairs affiliated brain bank, Boston University and the Foundation. The foundation declared that Bubba Smith was at the stage 3 of CTE out of four stages and died at the age of 66. Reports says that Smith developed significant cognitive decline which includes memory impairment and poor judgments. It is also reported that he was unable to do many of the daily routine task on his own such as travelling, paying bills or shopping.

Smith played the first NFL in 1967 and he was drafted after a career at Michigan State, which led Smith into the College Football hall of fame. He totally played nine seasons for Oakland Riders, Houston Oilers and Baltimore Colts. Then Smith became an actor and was best known for playing as Moses High tower in the "Police Academy" movies.

Recently released movie concussion was all about this disease CTE and the stages from which some of the NFL players were suffered before their death. This game might be fascinating and all, but the players are risking their mental life which becomes a night mare at a period of certain age.
